About the position

J.M. Huber Corporation is seeking a qualified candidate to improve plant capacity and efficiency through process optimization and capital projects. The role involves analyzing existing processes to enhance throughput, quality, cost, and efficiency. Responsibilities also include managing all aspects of capital project execution from initial scope development through startup and personnel training. The candidate will be responsible for assigned projects at the home base plant and other locations, focusing on productivity, process, capital, expense, and other areas. Additionally, the candidate will act as a catalyst for continuous improvement across all plants, engaging personnel to develop efficient resolutions to opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing processes to improve throughput, quality, cost, and efficiency.
  • Manage all aspects of capital project execution from initial scope development through startup and personnel training.
  • Supervise and coordinate contractor's on-site workforce to ensure compliance with plant procedures and effective resource utilization.
  • Engage all personnel in continuous improvement endeavors across all plants.
  • Ensure ESH policies and procedures are followed and documented, including change management and risk assessments.
  • Develop processes and equipment with sustainability in mind, supporting the triple bottom line of People, Planet, and Profit.
  • Collaborate with plant teams and GCC Engineering resources to develop best practices for continuous process and product improvements.
  • Work with procurement to identify, select, and manage outside contractors for required work.
  • Support the ISO quality system and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Execute all Capital Projects in accordance with HEM Capex procedures.
  • Evaluate new processing and milling technologies and design test programs for new or modified products.
  • Provide Engineering support to customers.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a 4-year engineering degree from an accredited university.
  • At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience in evaluating the performance of existing and new processes and implementing process improvements.
  • Familiarity with structured processes and tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, and RCA.
  • Ability to manage time and priorities to handle multiple competing projects with tight deadlines and budget requirements.
  • Strong management skills to direct and supervise contractors.
  • Excellent communication and team skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD design.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to support other plants.
  • Ability to read and comprehend company safety manual policies, SOPs, MSDS, and engineering drawings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in mineral processing is preferred.
