About the position

As a Process Engineer at Skechers, you will be pivotal in enhancing operational processes for Skechers Distribution, both domestically and globally. Your role involves analyzing current production practices, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing new strategies to optimize productivity while ensuring quality control. You will also design production layouts for the warehouse to boost efficiency and maintain process documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze current processing practices and areas to foster continuous improvement and optimize production process efficiency.
  • Build business cases for continuous improvement initiatives by collecting, analyzing, and presenting data that supports the proposed change.
  • Develop and maintain cost control systems and propose cost reduction for ongoing projects.
  • Maintain engineered labor standards by collecting time studies and overseeing the rollout of changes.
  • Communicate effectively with all key stakeholders from concept to implementation.
  • Adhere to best practices for solving technical problems, including root cause analysis.
  • Support new projects and developing areas.
  • Understand detailed process flows at each distribution center to facilitate troubleshooting and training.
  • Assist with documentation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Create and update AutoCAD production layouts in respect to high automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Two or more years of relevant engineering experience specific to distribution planning models and material handling technology applications.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information to non-technical personnel.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, with intermediate MS Excel skills, MS Access, and Visio.
  • Knowledge of Distribution systems - WMS, LMS, and Warehouse Execution Systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic AutoCAD skills.
  • Experience with Predetermined Motion Time Systems (MOST or MTM).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with simultaneous deadlines.
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking with the ability to meet concurrent project timelines.
