As a Process Engineer at Hostess Brands, you will have the opportunity to leverage your engineering expertise to make a significant impact on the process and packaging systems within our manufacturing facilities. This role is crucial in analyzing operations to improve throughput and yield while building the capabilities of the plant teams. You will be expected to continue growing your skill sets through cross-functional collaboration and direct floor exposure in our manufacturing plants. This position serves as a launchpad for your career into future roles across Operations and Supply Chain, allowing you to build a strong foundation in understanding how our products are made and how our work system functions. The position is based at our Decatur, Alabama manufacturing plant, where you will report directly to the Department Manager. The work arrangement is 100% on-site, with a typical schedule from Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. However, you should be willing to work off shifts, including nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as well as extended hours and flow to the work as needed. Additionally, there may be travel required for Factory Acceptance Tests, which could include domestic or international travel, typically 1-2 times per year. In this role, you will develop technical mastery of the core production processes to deliver critical results. You will identify process improvements while interfacing with department managers and technicians to deliver effective initiatives. Partnering with technicians on corrective actions, implementing solutions, and sustaining results will be key responsibilities. You will also model key safety and quality expectations related to plant operations and measure the impact on processes. Implementing Lean Manufacturing concepts in support of our High-Performance Organization (HPO) culture will be essential, as will leveraging effective continuous improvement and problem-solving tools to address root causes. Supporting startups for new product initiatives and capital projects, leading material and packaging improvements, and collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to design and execute improvements will also be part of your responsibilities.
