About the position

The Process Engineer at Danfoss is a pivotal role focused on the design, development, implementation, and support of assembly and test stations, as well as other equipment aimed at enhancing safety, quality, and productivity within the global manufacturing operations of DTC. This position requires close collaboration with software, process, and quality engineers to review requirements and implement effective test and machine controls for production machinery. By applying Lean or Six Sigma methodologies, the Process Engineer will lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives that aim to reduce time and material impacts during testing while enhancing upstream assembly controls to ensure the delivery of high-quality products. In this role, the Process Engineer will be responsible for supporting new product launches and modifications to the DTC product line. This includes directing vendor specifications for new and rebuilt machines and equipment, ensuring compliance with Danfoss standards for safety and performance. The engineer will also address shop floor needs, such as device connectivity and troubleshooting any deviations reported in the production lines. Daily support for urgent production issues will be a key responsibility, which involves conducting root cause analysis and implementing resolutions. The Process Engineer will collect and analyze data to make informed decisions, reporting results using operational indicators. Building rapport with colleagues across various functional areas is essential, as is ensuring the sustainability of continuous improvement projects. The role also involves developing manufacturing processes by studying product requirements and researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment. By analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout, the Process Engineer will work to improve manufacturing efficiency while maintaining compliance with government regulations and upholding the company's reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for processes and equipment to support new product launch and changes to the DTC product line.
  • Direct vendor specification of new and rebuild machines and equipment including test protocol to ensure compliance with Danfoss standards.
  • Support shop floor needs such as device connectivity and address deviations reported in the production lines.
  • Provide daily support for urgent production issues, including root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Collect data and make data-driven decisions, reporting results using Operations indicators.
  • Build rapport with colleagues from other functional areas and work well in cross-functional settings.
  • Ensure sustainability and continuous improvement projects are implemented effectively.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing operations.
  • PLC and/or automation experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with a diverse group of colleagues.
  • Strong skills in data analysis and root cause definition.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing practices.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing KPIs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Lean Manufacturing certification or experience.
  • Siemens PLC experience preferred.
  • Experience with training needs assessment, design, and delivery.
  • Familiarity with SAP ERP concepts.
  • Experience with handling Nonconformities Process & Tool Box (4-Steps, 8D, Pareto Analysis, Check-Sheets, Cause & Effect Diagram, Graphs, 5-Why analysis).
  • Experience with Change Products & Process & Tool Box (PFMEA, CP, MSA, SPC, Capability Study, Manufacturing Process).
  • Proficient in English communication.
