About the position

At Elanco, we are seeking a Process Engineer to provide technical expertise and ownership of the downstream emulsification and filling operation. This role is crucial in ensuring that our equipment remains in a state of readiness and compliance with industry standards. The Process Engineer will be responsible for documenting any changes to processes or equipment through our change management systems, ensuring that all modifications are tracked and compliant with regulations. In this position, you will provide leadership in root cause analysis of equipment issues within your area of ownership. You will work closely with maintenance and operations teams to enhance the lifecycle management of our facilities. This includes developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs, conducting calibrations, identifying spare parts, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. As the engineering liaison on the downstream process team, you will address all engineering-related events and issues, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. We are looking for a candidate who is not only technically proficient but also possesses strong communication skills. You will need to effectively communicate with management and other departments, writing reports, business correspondence, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as necessary. The ability to prioritize multiple activities and support various initiatives is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment remains in a state of readiness and compliance
  • Document any changes to processes/equipment through change management systems
  • Provide leadership in root cause analysis of equipment in area of ownership
  • Work alongside maintenance and operations to improve facilities lifecycle management
  • Be the engineering liaison on the downstream process team for all engineering related events/issues

Requirements

  • BS or higher in Engineering Field (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent written, verbal, and technical communication skills
  • Ability to independently write reports, business correspondence, Standard Operating Procedures, and presentations
  • Ability to prioritize multiple activities and multi-task to support multiple initiatives

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automation and/or instrumentation
  • Working knowledge of ISO-9000 standards, IEC standards, cGMP FDA Regulations, and industry best practices
  • Working knowledge of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance techniques
  • Previous Manufacturing experience
  • Strong business and technical abilities
