About the position

This position is in the Wisconsin Centers for Nanoscale Technology, Nanoscale Fabrication Center, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The center is a 10,000 sf cleanroom facility for nanoscale fabrication that supports a broad range of research by students, staff, faculty and industrial clients with interest in micro and nano fabrication and device development. The position will primarily support plasma etch and lithography process development and monitoring for our userbase, but may also be required to support other process technologies (deposition, packaging, wet chemistry, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Support plasma etch and lithography process development and monitoring.
  • Assist with other process technologies including deposition, packaging, and wet chemistry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related degree focused on Micro/Nano device fabrication.
  • Minimum of 3 years in semiconductor/device fabrication in a cleanroom environment.
  • Strong background in the use of micro- and nanofabrication techniques, equipment, and clean room protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work well in a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in student instruction or development of instructional materials.
  • Strong background in plasma etch science and related lithography.
  • Experience in one or more fabrication techniques: lithography, physical vapor deposition, plasma etch, horizontal tube furnaces, or LPCVD systems.
  • Experience and expertise in electrical and electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and vacuum components related to semiconductor/device fabrication equipment.
  • Experience in maintenance and repair of semiconductor fabrication tools.
