About the position

The Process Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and improving manufacturing processes at the Greensboro, NC plant of a global polyurethane foam manufacturer. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality policies, and ISO standards while implementing process improvements and developing foam formulations that meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Follow all general safety regulations and use provided safety equipment as required.
• Understand ISO 9001 requirements and the company's Quality Policy.
• Modify existing reporting systems for new methods, material specifications, and products.
• Create new machinery and process systems.
• Implement process improvements.
• Write and update standard operating procedures.
• Train personnel.
• Develop and modify foam formulations that meet customer and organization expectations.
• Keep area neat, organized, and clean, following 5S principles as appropriate.
• Cross train in other positions as required.
• Review KPI metrics such as yield and scrap reports.

Requirements

• A degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or at least 3+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the polymer industry.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and training materials such as safety rules and operating instructions.
• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Mathematical skills including university-level algebra, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, process controls, and fluid flow phenomena.
