About the position

Nice-Pak Products, Inc. (NP) is a leading global developer, manufacturer, and marketer of pre-moistened wipes for the consumer market, specializing in personal care, hygiene, household cleaning, and disinfection products. With several locations across the United States, we are seeking new Associates to join our team in Mooresville, IN. The Process Engineer will play a crucial role in leading continuous improvement initiatives on both new and existing manufacturing processes. This position is focused on driving improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency while providing process leadership in cost reduction, product innovation, and sustainability initiatives. The Process Engineer will develop best practices and procedures for the manufacturing process, with a strong emphasis on optimizing operations by reducing process variation through data-driven process controls. As part of a cross-functional team, the Process Engineer will interact with various departments including Research & Development, Quality Systems, Quality Laboratory, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Production, Warehouse, Converting, Packaging, Maintenance, Regulatory, and Operations. This collaborative environment will allow the Process Engineer to lead troubleshooting efforts and initiate continuous improvement projects for manufacturing processes, equipment, testing, and materials. The role requires a problem-solving leader who is proficient in Lean, 5S, 6 Sigma (SPC), and corrective action processes (RCCA) to address equipment and process issues effectively. The Process Engineer will also coordinate process improvement trials and facilitate the technological transfer of new processes to manufacturing, ensuring compliance with ISO 9000:2000 and cGMP standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide equipment and manufacturing process technical support for manufacturing team(s).
  • Provide leadership and subject matter expertise to the manufacturing team(s) on equipment and process capabilities.
  • Lead troubleshooting and initiate continuous improvement projects for manufacturing processes, equipment, testing, and materials.
  • Utilize Lean, 5S, 6 Sigma (SPC), and corrective action processes (RCCA) on equipment and process issues.
  • Lead projects and resolve corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
  • Coordinate process improvement trials and the technological transfer of new processes to manufacturing.
  • Initiate processes and/or product quality improvements to new or existing manufacturing processes.
  • Contribute to relevant design/development processes and reviews.
  • Generate and maintain process standards for manufacturing.
  • Seek new and innovative ways to streamline the manufacturing plant and implement and track improvements.
  • Recommend and specify equipment, materials, or processes.
  • Support validation processes and activities; assist and execute protocols as needed.
  • Create, implement, and verify SOPs, Work Instructions, and forms for new or revised products and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9000:2000 and cGMP's.
  • Responsible for production/process system improvements and improving reliability of operations through the development, testing, and implementation of new technology.
  • Support other technical resources with project objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial engineering or equivalent technical degree.
  • 4-8 years manufacturing/process engineering experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Manufacturing packaging equipment experience in medium to high-speed continuous & intermittent processes.
  • RCCA Training & Knowledge.
  • Industrial mechanical & electrical system knowledge.
  • Project Management training or experience.
  • Working knowledge and experience in CGMP and ISO requirements.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, AutoCAD, PowerPoint, and Access.

Nice-to-haves

  • Non-woven manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Liquid processing experience a plus.
  • General understanding of mechanical and electrical systems preferred.
  • Basic understanding/experience in factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and equipment or process validations a plus.
  • PLC and electrical circuit knowledge preferred.
  • Equipment design experience a plus.
