About the position

This position is responsible for the design, development, and analysis of processes utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques. The role involves creating process control documents to support all production functions, ensuring that established documents are deployed to maintain a consistent, reliable, and high-quality product within economic constraints. The ideal candidate will apply hands-on experience to implement efficient and capable processes for low volume, high mix electronic repair and assembly, as well as forward or reverse logistics processes in response to business requirements. The position is based in Lewisville, TX, with a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Key responsibilities include evaluating reverse logistics production processes to maximize efficiency, which encompasses cosmetics assessment, device reconditioning, device programming, component level testing, and final assembly functional and RF testing. The role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, & Excel) for editing, revising, and creating production documentation and process analysis. Additionally, the candidate will perform time studies to establish process baselines and lead or participate in Lean/Six Sigma process improvement initiatives. Support for manufacturing operations is crucial, particularly in device failure validation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. The position also involves coordinating with Assurant QA and Materials associates to address line-impacting component escalations and determining alternate source components. Analyzing production data and interpreting results to direct Lean improvement initiatives is essential, as is designing and developing fixturing/tooling to drive process efficiencies. The candidate will also be responsible for process and manufacturing facility layout designs to maximize throughput, yields, and quality, as well as performing root cause failure analysis on field failures and repair process failures. Identifying and reporting deficiencies and potential improvements to the department supervisor is expected, along with actively pursuing Lean process improvement initiatives and facilitating Lean Six Sigma project management throughout the plant. The role includes leading analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts and coaching and training others in these areas. Collaboration with the plant and leadership team, customers, suppliers, and production floor personnel to identify and facilitate projects aimed at improving key performance indicators (KPIs) is also a significant aspect of this position.
