About The Position

We are seeking a Process Engineer to assist in reviewing customer prints and specifications, as well as process prints. The role involves creating or assisting in creating and processing travelers. The Process Engineer will be responsible for assessing jobs and prints using knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, and quality control standards, which includes machining, metallurgy, and heat treat knowledge. The position requires estimating production times, staffing requirements, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Additionally, the Process Engineer will satisfy customer needs through phone communication and in-house visits, providing updates on job status as necessary. Collaboration with the Production Manager to ensure proper scheduling and communication with set-up technicians and the Quality Manager is also essential.

Requirements

• BSME and/or five or more years loose gearing experience
• Strong knowledge of heat treat
• Strong knowledge of metallurgy
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Teamwork ability and experience
• Excellent comprehension of mathematics (including geometry)
• Ability to read and analyze blueprints

Nice To Haves

• AutoCAD ability preferred
• Machining background highly desirable
• Metals knowledge desirable

Responsibilities

• Review Customers prints/specs
• Review process prints and tolerancing
• Create travelers/ routings in ERP system based on quote (JobBoss)
• Assess jobs and prints using knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, and quality control standards
• Estimate production times, staffing requirements and other considerations to facilitate production processes
• Satisfy customer needs by phone and in-house visits and communicating job status as needed
• Work with Production Manager to ensure proper scheduling
• Communicate with set-up technicians and Quality Manager as needed for production
