The Process Engineer at SLB will play a crucial role in the design and execution of process engineering tasks specifically tailored for the oil and gas industry. This position requires a deep understanding of customer inquiries and technical specifications to ensure that the designed process equipment meets the necessary requirements. The engineer will be responsible for designing process equipment and packages, performing engineering tasks during project execution, and working independently with minimal supervision. In this role, the engineer will evaluate customer inquiries and specifications to determine the most suitable process or equipment design for various applications. They will design equipment that aligns with specifications while clearly defining any differences or exceptions. The engineer will also be tasked with submitting technical proposals that outline the scope of supply, equipment performance, warranty, and delivery timelines, all presented in a manner that enhances SLB's position to secure orders. The Process Engineer will lead the development of all project process deliverables, including Heat & Material Balance, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment datasheets. They will ensure that all documentation is consistent and that any changes are reflected across all relevant documents. Compliance with customer purchase orders regarding technical and process requirements is essential, as is performing complex process simulations using SLB-defined software. Additionally, the engineer will create and review complex PFDs and P&IDs, perform line sizing calculations, and provide process information to instrumentation engineers. They will also be involved in safety studies, prepare technical requisitions for equipment, and produce comprehensive manuals for installation, operation, and maintenance. The role includes performing peer reviews of design work and providing technical support for troubleshooting, as well as participating in on-site start-up and troubleshooting activities.
