About the position

Georgia-Pacific Consumer Manufacturing Group is seeking qualified professionals to be considered for our Pulp Paper Process Engineer role supporting the Consumer Products Group Operations located in Muskogee, OK. The Muskogee facility uses integrated technology to manufacture tissue, paper towel, and napkin products in a progressive production environment. The Pulp Paper Process Engineer at Georgia Pacific is a vital role responsible for overseeing the maintenance and management of the company's facilities and grounds. This role will have responsibility for optimizing the pulp and paper manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The Muskogee Plant is part of the tissue, towel, and napkin paper products manufacturing operation. Responsibilities

  • Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture
  • Analyze and evaluate current pulp and paper manufacturing processes
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality
  • Monitor process performance and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Lead and manage projects related to process optimization, equipment upgrades, and new technology implementation
  • Collaborate with project teams, including engineers, operators, and maintenance personnel, to ensure successful project execution
  • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve process issues
  • Conduct root cause analysis of process problems and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure that all process improvements and operations comply with safety and environmental regulations
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within the team
  • Collect and analyze process data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Train and mentor operators and junior engineers on best practices, process optimization techniques, and new technologies
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation within the team

Requirements

  • Experience in a pulp and paper manufacturing or a related industry environment
  • Understanding of pulp and paper manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to manufacturing
