About the position

The Process Engineer role at Flex is focused on enhancing manufacturing processes to improve cost, quality, and delivery. This position is integral to supporting the manufacturing organization by implementing process-engineering capabilities and troubleshooting issues to optimize production efficiency. The role requires collaboration with teams to develop methodologies and maintain process documentation, ensuring the successful implementation of new processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Understand manufacturing processes and products.
  • Define and evaluate designs for manufacturability.
  • Identify root causes of manufacturing failures.
  • Engage in daily production and problem-solving.
  • Justify and implement capital equipment purchases.
  • Oversee new process equipment and engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Establish and maintain process parameters.
  • Develop and own process control methodologies.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and improve cycle times.
  • Evaluate engineered materials and conduct statistical process research.
  • Implement safety and productivity improvements.
  • Enhance manufacturing techniques and throughput.
  • Maintain process documentation and review methods.
  • Collaborate on new process implementation and training.
  • Provide equipment maintenance and support.
  • Lead cost improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or mechatronics.
  • 6 years of experience in engineering in the high technology electronics industry.
  • Understanding of PLCs (ABB preferred).
  • Experience with Minitab highly preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma/DRM Green Belt highly preferred.
  • Medical device manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Previous position supporting 24/7 production.
  • Experience with vision-based inspection (Cognex/Keyence software).
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Excel knowledge.
