About the position

Fufeng USA Inc. is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to support the design and construction of its U.S. corn wet milling and bio-fermentation plant. This role involves collaboration with the Senior Process Engineer and project expansion team, as well as third-party engineering firms, to oversee facility design and contribute to plant construction. The position offers a unique opportunity to engage in a large-scale project from conceptual design through to operational implementation.

Responsibilities

• Experience with engineering detailed design for agro-industrial, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food, and specialty chemical industries.
• Create flow schematics, P&ID's, material & energy balances, and plan view layouts.
• Size various equipment types and unit operations such as pumps, heat exchangers, fermenters, and centrifuges.
• Troubleshoot processes in a manufacturing environment from mechanical and operational perspectives.
• Understand plant control systems and their functionalities; programming experience is a plus.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs.
• Provide input to strategic decisions affecting the functional area of responsibility.
• Conduct risk assessments and report identified risks to management with recommendations for mitigation.
• Collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization, both on-site and remotely.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Relevant engineering experience in operations, project management, and process design.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills with a strong grasp of engineering disciplines, plant operations, and construction.
• Action-oriented and engaged from an engineering perspective.
• Experience formulating and executing plans to meet pre-defined project goals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Lean Six Sigma certifications are a plus.
• Computer skills including spreadsheet and project scheduling.
