About the position

As a Process Engineer at 3M, you will play a crucial role in supporting the assembly and qualification of SCBA products. This position emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams to scale up and qualify new products, while also leading continuous improvement projects in a Lean Manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for implementing capital improvement projects and enhancing product and process understanding through statistical techniques.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning, qualifying, and supporting assembly for SCBA products.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to scale up and qualify new products.
• Leading continuous improvement projects in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
• Leading programs to improve product and process understanding (PPU) with emphasis on statistical techniques.
• Determining and implementing capital improvement projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start).
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution (preferred).
• Experience in project management (preferred).
• Experience working with Lean Manufacturing concepts/practices (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience participating on cross functional teams (preferred).
• Flexible to provide support across different shifts of manufacturing operations as needed (preferred).
• Engineering co-op or intern experience (preferred).
• Self-starter/self-directed that leads with high energy and passion (preferred).
