About the position

The Process Engineer at Robert Half is responsible for managing special processes related to operations and machine maintenance. This role involves overseeing the installation of new special process equipment, supporting maintenance, and performing mechanical repairs as needed. The engineer will utilize their expertise to develop and implement refined processes, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with external suppliers to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage new special process equipment installation projects through technology research, project approval, and implementation.
• Support maintenance of special process equipment and perform mechanical repairs as needed.
• Research latest technology related to special processes.
• Develop and implement refined processes, procedures, and best practices for special processing equipment to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop preventative maintenance requirements for each special process.
• Troubleshoot through effective problem-solving.
• Gain a deep understanding of chemical processing for passivation, electropolishing, and final clean.
• Lead efforts in regular maintenance service contracts.
• Oversee troubleshooting of all special process equipment.
• Collaborate with and manage external suppliers, including sourcing, vetting, negotiating contracts, and maintaining relationships.
• Assist in mechanical and electrical machine design and assemblies.
• Manage project implementation for new equipment, processes, and process changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred.
• Five (5) or more years of experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
