About the position

The Process Engineer role at Honda involves designing safe and efficient processes for Main Assembly and Sub-Assemblies within the AF Department. The position focuses on optimizing production functions using analytic tools and traditional industrial engineering methods, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and innovation to achieve maximum process efficiency and a zero environmental footprint.

Responsibilities

• Use M.O.S.T. to develop balanced processes across AF manufacturing areas.
• Work to achieve Maximum Process Efficiency.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques to design processes that are simple and achieve SQCDM targets.
• Support Business Plan themes as assigned by department or plant leadership and provide quarterly progress updates to management.
• Lead meetings with other Honda functional groups to develop and launch improvement themes.
• Perform time estimates for process/line work and develop operation standards for the AF Department.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste within the process and improve efficiency using 5S work methods.
• Evaluate and implement ergonomic countermeasures to prevent associate injury.
• Maintain accurate AutoCAD department layout.
• Collect feedback from the production floor in AF and address their concerns.
• Read Parts drawings, Spec Notices, and 3D CATIA data.
• Create charts and presentations to report status and plans for key department metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent related experience.
• 2-8 years' experience in process engineering based on education.
• Proficiency in Excel VBA, Standard Time Evaluation, Workstation Design, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Customer Service, PDDA.
