About the position

The Process Engineer at SSOE will support local clients and virtually assist project teams across various locations. This role involves working on projects from inception through construction, focusing on developing process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), process calculations, and equipment specifications. The engineer will ensure quality service delivery on schedule and within budget while collaborating with multi-discipline teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering studies and write reports.
• Develop and complete engineering calculations.
• Assist with the development of PFDs and P&IDs.
• Provide engineering oversight and check process deliverables.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering and design teams to complete project tasks.
• Assist in the creation of bid packages.
• Perform field work to support engineering responsibilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering qualifying for licensure in the state of practice.
• 4+ years of working experience in a relevant field.
• Exposure to chemical plants and related industrial settings preferred.
• Experience with chemical simulation programs like ChemCAD or Aspen.
• Familiarity with Pipe Flo or AFT Fathom is a plus.
• Ability to work in a client-facing role with contractors and vendors.
• Knowledge of building codes and chemical storage requirements.
• Experience with utility system equipment and distribution systems.
• Experience with industrial wastewater treatment is a plus.
