About the position

The Process Engineer is responsible for evaluating customer products and developing manufacturing plans to meet customer specifications. This role requires a strong background in design and manufacturing, as well as an understanding of equipment costs. The engineer will assist in various aspects of processing, including process development, system layout, and process verification, while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer products and specifications to develop manufacturing plans.
  • Assist in process development, system layout, and process verification.
  • Conduct cycle time analysis and ergonomic evaluations.
  • Select and validate joining equipment and spare parts.
  • Interpret automotive product drawings and manufacturing specifications.
  • Maintain knowledge of PC-based software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Work with simulation operators to verify process viability.
  • Identify safety and environmental concerns in facilities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other departmental functions as required.

Requirements

  • Associates degree from a two-year college or university or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 or more years of processing experience in automated automotive manufacturing.
  • Competent in using Process Designer software (Siemens product).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and safety rules.
  • Strong mathematical skills for advanced concepts and data analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with GM processes preferred.
