About the position

Koch-Glitsch, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a Process Engineer to join our team in Wichita, KS. This role is pivotal in providing technical support and developing innovative solutions for Mass Transfer equipment, particularly in trayed and packed tower applications. The Process Engineer will engage with a diverse range of applications, including refining, petrochemicals, chemicals, biofuels, food processing, gas processing, pharmaceuticals, and environmental sectors. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, technically proficient, and possess excellent communication skills, enabling them to effectively present value propositions in a fast-paced sales environment. In this position, the Process Engineer will work closely with our sales, engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure timely delivery of solutions that maximize customer value. The role requires a proactive approach to understanding and anticipating customer expectations, allowing for the provision of tailored solutions that meet specific needs. The Process Engineer will also be responsible for driving the quoting process for assigned opportunities, collaborating with various stakeholders including customers, outside sales teams, estimators, purchasing, and production teams. As the technical owner of all processes related to customer specifications, the Process Engineer will oversee hydraulic calculations, simulations, and the development of new arrangements that align with customer requirements. This role also involves responding to customer inquiries to refine proposed solutions and working with the equipment execution team to ensure compliance with customer specifications. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required to support these efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Determine and anticipate customer expectations to provide unique individualized solutions that best meet the customer's needs
  • Drive the quoting effort for assigned opportunities and collaborate with customers, outside sales teams, estimators, purchasing, and production
  • Be the technical owner on all processes related to customer technical specifications from launch to completion, including hydraulic calculations, simulations, and new arrangements that are compatible with customer specifications
  • Respond to customer inquiries in order to refine the proposed solution to meet varying customer needs as they arise
  • Work with the equipment execution team to ensure the equipment is built in compliance with customer specifications and expectations
  • Occasional travel to customer sites

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience in an engineering role or engineering internship

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Mass Transfer Technology equipment
  • Experience developing and writing technical proposals
  • Previous work experience in refining or chemicals Industry
