About the position

The Process Engineer position at Assurant is a critical role responsible for the design, development, and analysis of processes utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques. This position requires the creation of process control documents to support all production functions, ensuring that established documents are deployed to maintain a consistent, reliable, and high-quality product within economic constraints. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on approach to deploy efficient and capable processes in a low volume, high mix electronic repair and assembly environment, as well as in forward or reverse logistics processes in response to business requirements. The role is based in Lewisville, TX, with a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. In this role, the Process Engineer will evaluate reverse logistics production processes to maximize efficiency, which includes cosmetics assessment, device reconditioning, device programming, component level testing, and final assembly functional and RF testing. The engineer will utilize Microsoft Office tools for editing, revising, and creating production documentation and process analysis. Conducting time studies to establish process baselines and leading or participating in Lean/Six Sigma process improvement initiatives are also key responsibilities. The engineer will support manufacturing operations by validating device failures, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. Collaboration is essential in this role, as the Process Engineer will coordinate with Assurant QA and Materials associates to address line-impacting component escalations and determine alternate source components. Analyzing production data and interpreting results to direct Lean improvement initiatives is a significant part of the job. The engineer will also design and develop fixturing and tooling to drive process efficiencies, as well as create process and manufacturing facility layout designs to maximize throughput, yields, and quality. Additionally, the role involves performing root cause failure analysis on field failures and repair process failures, actively identifying and pursuing Lean process improvement initiatives, and facilitating Lean Six Sigma project management throughout the plant. The Process Engineer will lead analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts, coaching and training others in these areas while collaborating with the plant and leadership team, customers, suppliers, and production floor personnel to improve key performance indicators (KPIs).
