About the position

Cenovus is seeking a Process Engineer to join our team in Superior, WI. In this role, you will be responsible for performing engineering tasks aimed at optimizing manufacturing production, processes, and techniques within a refinery setting. Your primary focus will be to ensure safe and reliable operations while maximizing run rates, yields, and product quality. You will utilize continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate waste and inefficiencies, thereby enhancing profitability. As a Process Engineer, you will conduct advanced engineering calculations to improve both equipment and product quality. Your diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices will enable you to make independent decisions to solve engineering problems, allowing for rapid improvements or corrections to process issues. You will gather, analyze, interpret, and disseminate pertinent data related to unit operations, which will help monitor the performance of manufacturing units. Based on your findings, you will make recommendations to improve unit yield and optimize energy consumption. Additionally, you will evaluate the economic feasibility of projects throughout all phases of development. Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering tasks to optimize manufacturing production, processes, and techniques in a refinery setting.
  • Ensure safe and reliable operations while optimizing run rates, yields, and quality of product.
  • Utilize continuous improvement to drive out waste or inefficiencies and enhance profitability.
  • Conduct advanced engineering calculations to improve equipment and product quality.
  • Make independent decisions to solve engineering problems to rapidly improve or correct process issues.
  • Gather, analyze, interpret, and disseminate pertinent unit operations data that monitors performance of manufacturing units.
  • Make recommendations to improve unit yield and optimize energy consumption.
  • Evaluate economic feasibility of projects during all phases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent foreign degree accepted.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the position above, as an Engineer, or in a related engineering role.
  • Experience troubleshooting process equipment in an operating environment.
  • Experience with engineering calculations for heat and material transfer.
  • Familiarity with engineering specifications and standards from Equity Engineering (E2G), American Petroleum Institute (API), and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
