About the position

The Process Engineer will collaborate with Design Engineering to develop products that enhance manufacturing methods while ensuring safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves optimizing factory layouts, leading quality improvement initiatives, and driving the development of innovative tooling designs. The engineer will also work closely with vendors to create efficient production lines and implement lean manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Design Engineering to develop products for streamlined manufacturing methods.
  • Support factory teams to develop optimized factory-level layouts.
  • Take responsibility for exceeding dimensional quality and lead activities towards this objective.
  • Lead the development of innovative tooling design to achieve process plans and GD&T strategies.
  • Drive improvement of project planning documents such as timelines and safety assessments.
  • Work with vendors to develop efficient production lines with simplicity and speed.
  • Initiate strategies to ramp quality and rate of new production lines to full capacity.
  • Improve material flow, waste reduction, safety, and ergonomics using lean manufacturing practices.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering; or equivalent experience.
  • 6-10 years of related experience in developing and launching complex assembly processes.
  • Proven track record of initiative and managing competing demands in high-pressure environments.
  • Detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to make data-based decisions.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments.
  • Strong familiarity with structured problem-solving methodologies such as DMAIC and 5 Whys.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with modifying jigs, fixtures, and coordinating equipment installations.
  • Strong understanding of BOMs, OEE, manufacturability, DFM, and process validation.
  • Experience with AUTOCAD, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, and similar software.
