About the position
The Process Engineering Intern position at Corning for Summer 2025 is designed for students pursuing degrees in Material Science, Ceramics Engineering, or Chemical Engineering. This internship offers a dynamic opportunity to support the manufacturing and engineering of high-quality glass products, focusing on process improvement, experimentation, and data analysis. Interns will work closely with the division engineering team and key plant personnel to plan, design, and test manufacturing processes on the factory floor.
Responsibilities
- Support the manufacturing and engineering of glass products.
- Perform research and entry-level process work.
- Engage in process improvement and experimentation.
- Conduct data analysis related to thermodynamics and heat transfer.
- Assist in ensuring product quality and measurements.
- Collaborate with key plant personnel to design and test manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Material Science, Ceramics Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
- Availability for 10 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-August 2025).
- Graduation date of December 2025 or later.
- Interest in working for Corning, Inc after graduation.
Nice-to-haves
- Coursework in material science, ceramics engineering, or chemical engineering.
- Experience using 3D CAD software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
