About the position

The Process Engineering Intern will support plant operations by assisting with the optimization of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, performance, and productivity. This internship provides hands-on experience with process analysis, system monitoring, and problem-solving within a cement plant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily tracking and monitoring of production goals for raw grinding systems, pyro processes, and cement ball mill systems.
  • Work with plant management to identify and address deviations from budgeted operating specifications.
  • Conduct process audits under the guidance of senior engineers to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Support the analysis of clinker microscopy and assist with weekly and quarterly reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Controls and Automation Engineer to optimize and streamline plant operations using process computer systems.
  • Contribute to capital project reviews, focusing on process efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Participate in troubleshooting efforts for process failures and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Work with supervisors and operators to identify opportunities for process improvements and modifications.
  • Help maintain records of operating parameters, process variables, and system targets.
  • Assist with energy management projects, including the identification and implementation of energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Support plant safety practices in all assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Process or Automation Engineering.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good attendance and punctual.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, insurance and be insurable to drive company vehicles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with equipment management software.
  • Prior experience or internship in the construction or building materials industry.
