About the position

Marmon Utility LLC is offering a Summer Internship Experience aimed at talented and innovative interns who are eager to enhance their careers while contributing to meaningful engineering solutions. Interns will engage in real-world job assignments, receive mentorship, and have opportunities for networking with senior leaders, all while supporting plant safety objectives and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Support plant safety objectives and improvements.
  • Drive process improvements with support from Operations and Engineering.
  • Utilize data and statistics for decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day processes and work towards root cause elimination.
  • Own waste elimination projects.
  • Document processes using Marmon Utility's standard process sheet.
  • Participate in LEAN Kaizen events for Continuous Improvement efforts.
  • Support day-to-day operations with assigned problem-solving and improvements.
  • Provide process support for capital projects and implementation of new CMMS and live monitoring software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in progress in Plastics, Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent science/math-based degree.
  • Completed at least four semesters towards degree.
  • Previous work experience, including non-engineering backgrounds, is open for consideration.
  • Ability to work in the US indefinitely and without restrictions.
  • Excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Drive to learn and willingness to take on responsibility.

Benefits

  • Paid internship at a rate of $22.00 - $27.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and education.
  • Full-time hours (40 hours per week) for 12 weeks from May to August.
