About the position

The Process Engineering Manager at Kerry will lead the Fleischmanns Vinegar Process Engineering team, focusing on process optimization and the introduction of new products and processes. This role involves overseeing the SAP Plant Maintenance system to ensure compliance with maintenance schedules and manage spare parts inventories, while driving improvements in equipment effectiveness and sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Fleischmanns Vinegar process engineering team to improve equipment overall effectiveness and reduce waste.
  • Develop capital plans aligned with the overall business strategy for process improvements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and develop business cases for new or existing systems, providing engineering support during trials.
  • Manage capital projects under $500k, ensuring compliance with safety, environment, quality, and food safety standards.
  • Develop and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for new equipment operations.
  • Oversee site maintenance teams and support plant operations to address unplanned downtime events.
  • Lead Kaizen events to solve large-scale problems and conceptual designs.
  • Promote projects aimed at reducing water, electricity, carbon emissions, and waste to meet sustainability targets.
  • Explore new technologies and equipment to drive process improvement and foster a culture of innovation.
  • Build a high-performing team through talent management and employee development.

Requirements

  • Minimum BS in Engineering with at least 10 years of engineering experience in the food, chemical, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Expert knowledge of manufacturing systems including evaporative cooling, refrigeration, and fluid dynamics.
  • Experience in continuous improvement methodologies and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently under pressure.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA).
  • Familiarity with lean six sigma tools such as hypothesis testing and capability analysis.
