About the position
The Process Engineering Technician at Flex is responsible for optimizing disassembly and material handling practices through the application of LEAN methodologies. This role involves conducting tests, compiling data, and making recommendations for product design changes while ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards. The technician will also identify risks in standardized processes and implement solutions to mitigate them, alongside performing failure and data analysis for new products.
Responsibilities
- Drive the deployment of optimal disassembly and material handling practices using LEAN methodologies.
- Specify the type of tests to be performed and compile data for product design recommendations.
- Ensure alignment between operational processes and environmental, safety, and quality standards.
- Identify critical risks to the deployment of standardized processes and recommend solutions.
- Plan, develop, and implement procedures for testing and evaluating soon-to-be-released products.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and 3 Phase Power Systems.
- Familiarity with industrial machines such as conveyors, gearboxes, dust collectors, and shredders.
- Strong collaboration skills for working with cross-functional partners.
- Project management skills and analytical skills for process adjustments.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering; a Master's degree is a plus.
