About the position

The Process Improvement Engineer Specialist will support mission-critical operations in Springfield, VA, focusing on enhancing business processes and knowledge management tools. This role involves designing and implementing process improvements, conducting business reviews, and coordinating user engagement to optimize efficiency across various agency elements.

Responsibilities

• Leverage understanding of mission and customers to design and implement business process modernization and improvements.
• Brief Knowledge Management (KM) tools and processes to other agency elements for possible efficiencies in workload.
• Coordinate and lead requirements gathering, user engagement, and delivery of KM needs.
• Conduct business process reviews, software testing, workforce training, and website content management.
• Work with leadership to develop communication plans for transitioning new KM tools and/or enhancements.
• Collaborate with desk officers to improve design of user interface features.
• Maintain awareness of other agency KM tools and how they might be incorporated into local business processes.

Requirements

• Graduate Degree or equivalent experience within related field (15 years minimum).
• TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain a CI Poly.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Six Sigma, CMMI, and ISO).
• Demonstrated experience applying knowledge management, business intelligence, process improvement, reengineering methodologies or best practice principles to design and implement process modernization and improvements.
• Demonstrated experience in coordinating and leading activities of engineers/specialists related to technology needs.
• Demonstrated experience with cloud-based technology such as AWS, C2S, Cloud Foundry.
• Demonstrated experience in using web-based technologies such as browsers, HTML code, object-oriented technology, graphics software, and content management systems.
• Demonstrated experience with ColdFusion, Python/Django, SQL, JAVA, familiarity with Kubernetes or OpenShift, Web Framework, Database Management Systems (DBMS) (MYSQL or similar DBMS), JavaScript, REST, SOAP web services.

Nice-to-haves

• Demonstrated experience in understanding of technology requirements specific to international affairs and IC coordination.
• Demonstrated experience with Imagery Disclosure Tool (IDT), Request Action Tracker (RAT), or SharePoint custom workflows.
