About the position

The Process Improvement Engineer will play a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency within the distribution center of a leading retail company. This position is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of various cost reduction projects aimed at optimizing processes and improving overall performance. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Operations staff to provide cross-functional training and project support, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement new procedures effectively. A key aspect of this role involves creating comprehensive process documentation and associated training materials for newly implemented procedures. The Process Improvement Engineer will utilize their strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive improvements across various operational areas, including transportation, material handling, plant operations, warehousing, and supply chain management. In addition to designing and implementing new procedures and performance indicators, the engineer will evaluate the impact of these changes on team execution levels. This includes developing training programs and record-keeping criteria to support ongoing process and quality improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in process improvement, with the ability to showcase quantifiable contributions in their previous roles.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and execute cost reduction projects.
  • Collaborate with Operations staff to provide cross-functional training and project support.

  • Design and implement new procedures, standards, and performance indicators in key operational areas.
  • Evaluate the impact of new procedures and team execution levels.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (Industrial/Manufacturing).
  • Minimum 6 years of full-time experience in process improvement, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of process improvement techniques such as Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen.
  • Proven ability to showcase quantifiable contributions and successes in work history.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
