About the position

The Process Improvement Engineer (PIE) Leader plays a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency and stability within the manufacturing environment. This position is centered around the maintenance and improvement of true efficiency (TE), running efficiency (RE), and overall production system capabilities. The PIE Leader is tasked with driving continuous improvements across various processes, focusing on cost efficiency, service quality, and safety standards. By developing a deep understanding of the processes under their purview, the PIE Leader leverages this expertise to implement strategies that enhance TE and product quality, ultimately contributing to the organization's operational excellence. In this role, the PIE Leader will be responsible for conducting loss analysis and developing comprehensive TE improvement plans. This includes leading the execution of these plans and tracking results to ensure that objectives are met. The PIE Leader will also oversee manufacturing transformation initiatives that are introduced at the site, ensuring that these changes are effectively integrated into existing operations. A significant aspect of the role involves facilitating Lean Six Sigma (LSS) project management throughout the plant, which requires a strong grasp of LSS methodologies and the ability to lead teams in applying these principles. Additionally, the PIE Leader will manage the Centerline System, focusing on its development, maintenance, and the implementation of change management initiatives. This includes leading efforts to reduce changeover times through rapid changeover activities, setting ambitious targets, and guiding teams to achieve these objectives. The PIE Leader will also engage in analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving, utilizing data-driven approaches to identify and resolve operational challenges. Furthermore, the role involves developing annual operating plans, yield targets, and fixed budgets, as well as coaching and training team members on these critical processes.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for loss analysis & TE improvement plan development, plan execution leadership, and results tracking
  • Responsible for Manufacturing transformation initiatives that come to the site
  • Facilitate Lean Six Sigma (LSS) project management throughout the plant
  • Lead the Centerline System management, including its development, maintenance & leading change management initiatives
  • Responsible for rapid changeover activities including principles, target setting, and leading successful efforts reducing changeover time to achieve challenging objectives
  • Lead analytical troubleshooting & problem solving
  • Develop annual operating plan, yield, and fixed budgets. Coach and train others on these as well.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in process improvement methodologies, particularly Lean and Six Sigma
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Experience in manufacturing environments
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
  • Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt or Green Belt)
  • Experience with change management processes
