About the position

As a Process Integration Engineer intern at GlobalFoundries, you will be an integral part of our engineering team, working on various projects that focus on enhancing process yield, reducing costs, and improving integrated process capabilities. This internship is designed to provide you with a meaningful work experience that will equip you with the skills necessary to embark on a successful career in the semiconductor industry. You will engage in hands-on projects that involve gathering and analyzing data to define problems and drive improvements. Your role will also include summarizing and sharing findings with key stakeholders and driving the closure of control plans to secure improvements. This position is located at our facility in Essex Junction, Vermont, and requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and engineering skills. During your internship, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals who will mentor you and help you develop your skills. You will be involved in defining opportunities for improvement based on performance metrics such as yield, capability, and cost. Your responsibilities will include gathering and analyzing data to enhance your understanding of the problems at hand, developing and testing hypotheses regarding root causes, and implementing effective solutions. Additionally, you will document your findings and globalize your learning to contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes. Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner, supporting all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Define opportunities for improvement based on risk or performance against a key metric (yield, performance, capability, cost, delivery)
  • Gather and analyze data that enhances the understanding of the problem
  • Develop and test hypotheses of the root cause
  • Develop and implement solutions
  • Summarize findings and communicate across key stakeholders
  • Document and globalize learning
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's in engineering, materials science, chemistry, physics, or a related field.
  • Fluency in English (written & verbal)
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
