About the position
The Process Lead position at Dart Container involves leading a team of skilled technicians in the production and engineering sector, specifically focusing on thermoforming thin gauge materials. The role requires hands-on leadership, project management, and collaboration with engineers to enhance production efficiency and quality. The Process Lead will also be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical issues and mentoring technicians.
Responsibilities
- Assign technicians to projects and ensure timely, accurate completion.
- Share knowledge of production equipment and processes to guide the team.
- Oversee the set-up, testing, and troubleshooting of production equipment.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in mechanical or manufacturing process program and eight years of manufacturing equipment and processes experience, OR a high school diploma and ten years of experience.
- Demonstrated mastery in thin gauge thermoforming.
- Experience mentoring and reviewing technicians' work.
- Prior experience troubleshooting and repairing production tooling and equipment.
- Familiarity with statistical and quality methodologies such as SPC, SQC, 5S, 8D, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Gage R&R, and DOE.
- Proficiency in using powered and manual hand tools.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints or drawings.
- Understanding of production processes and quality control techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
