Process Mapping Business Analyst

About the position

The Process Mapping Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data related to workflows, creating visual representations of processes, and identifying opportunities for improvement. This role involves facilitating workshops with cross-functional teams to develop process improvement plans and documenting changes to ensure proper implementation.

Responsibilities

• Gathering data by conducting interviews with stakeholders, observing workflows, and collecting data on process steps, timings, and decision points.
• Creating visual representations of processes using tools like flowcharts, swimlane diagrams, and BPMN notation.
• Analyzing process data to identify areas of inefficiency, redundancy, delays, and potential cost reductions.
• Proposing solutions to address issues discovered in process analysis, such as automation, simplification, or re-designing workflows.
• Leading discussions with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and collaboratively develop process improvement plans.
• Creating clear and concise documentation of revised processes and ensuring proper implementation and training.

Requirements

• 2-4 year degree
• Minimum 15 years of process mapping experience
• Proficiency in using process mapping tools and techniques
• Public Service experience
• Grant Management experience

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in process improvement with a focus on enhancing existing processes
• Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions
• Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels
• Familiarity with relevant software tools like Microsoft Visio and BPMN modeling tools
• Experience in writing technical documentation
• Ability to identify root causes of process issues and develop practical solutions.
