About the position

The Process Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for preparing conceptual design layouts, performing engineering calculations, and developing equipment specifications for various mechanical systems. This role involves supporting detailed engineering of piping, ductwork, and utility systems, as well as reviewing project deliverables to ensure quality. The engineer will also participate in project teams, communicate with clients, and travel to client sites for inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare conceptual design layouts, PFD's, and P&ID's.
  • Perform engineering calculations and develop equipment specifications.
  • Support detailed engineering of piping, ductwork, and utility systems.
  • Review RFI's and submittals, providing support throughout project construction.
  • Participate in the preparation and development of Process Mechanical-related project deliverables.
  • Perform air calculations regarding static losses and system effects losses.
  • Conduct fluid and hydraulic calculations related to pipe losses and pump selection.
  • Understand and apply applicable governmental safety codes and standards.
  • Maintain project records and personal records of communications.
  • Prepare bid packages and detailed fabrication drawings.
  • Assist in specifying requirements for purchased equipment.
  • Track and communicate project status and schedule.
  • Review contractor submittals and system as-built drawings.
  • Travel to client sites for field inspections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited school preferred.
  • 3-7 years of related work experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD preferred.
  • Familiarity with BIM 360 and Navisworks preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Working knowledge of process system engineering and design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
