About The Position

The Process Operator II at US Sugar Savannah Refinery is responsible for operating and maintaining sugar-processing machinery across various functions, including Affination, White Side Centrifugals, Press Floor, Decolorization, and Liquid Sugar. This role emphasizes adherence to safety and quality standards while ensuring efficient operation of equipment and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year production experience, maintenance, or military experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Experience troubleshooting technical equipment problems such as valves, pumps, and motors.

Nice To Haves

• One year of technical school or maintenance certification preferred.
• Certification of completion of Microsoft Excel course preferred.
• Two or more years of production experience in the food or chemical industry preferred.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and mathematics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain sugar processing and peripheral equipment according to defined SOPs.
• Troubleshoot problems on sugar processing equipment and request mechanical or electrical assistance when needed.
• Perform cleaning, inspection, and lubrication on all machinery within their scope of authority.
• Ensure process quality and compliance with the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program by performing quality checks at prescribed intervals.
• Initiate documentation and provide signatures to verify compliance with quality and SQF checks.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned area following Five S principles.
• Write work orders and near miss safety reports, and complete necessary documentation, logs, and data sheets.
