The Process Safety Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of Energy Transfer's operations. Reporting to the EH&S Department's Process Safety Director, the engineer will work both independently and collaboratively within the Process Safety team. The primary focus will be on providing hazard analysis services, which include conducting Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), PHA Revalidations, Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and Hazard Reviews. The engineer will be expected to leverage their expertise in OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and the EPA's Risk Management Plan (RMP) regulations to assist the company's regulated facilities in managing, coordinating, and implementing all fourteen elements of the PSM standard. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering codes and standards, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate will be a dependable and self-motivated individual who can travel overnight to various company facilities as needed. They will also need to demonstrate strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. The position demands a proactive approach to safety and compliance, ensuring that all operations meet regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of safety within the organization. The engineer will also be responsible for utilizing specialized software such as Primatech PHA and applying methodologies like HAZOP, What-if Checklist, and FMEA to assess and mitigate risks associated with operations. In addition to technical skills, the candidate should possess a customer service mentality and project professionalism, contributing to a collaborative work environment that values communication and teamwork. The work environment will include both normal office conditions and fieldwork, with potential exposure to industrial settings that may involve various materials and chemicals, requiring appropriate personal protective equipment.
