The Process Safety Engineer at Ecolab is a critical role within our manufacturing facility located in Garland, TX. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Process Safety Management (PSM) program and Risk Management Plan (RMP) requirements. The Process Safety Engineer will provide assistance to other plants or facilities within the network as needed, ensuring that safety protocols are adhered to and that the highest standards of safety are maintained across operations. In this role, you will maintain all process safety information and documentation necessary for conducting Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) or PHA revalidations. You will also be responsible for maintaining and updating the Plant Risk Management Plan (RMP), coordinating the submission of plan updates with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and local governmental agencies. Developing and maintaining PSM procedures is a key responsibility, ensuring their appropriate use at the Garland Plant. These procedures include Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR), Incident Investigation, and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA). As a leader in safety, you will facilitate PHA or PHA revalidation sessions and may coordinate with third-party contractors for large projects. Training new employees on PSM and RMP requirements, as well as providing retraining for existing employees, is essential. You will manage and lead incident investigations and root cause analyses (RCAs) as needed, providing technical support during asset Safety/PSM audits and serving as an audit team member or leader on division and corporate audits. Monitoring the adequacy and closure of corrective action items related to incident investigations, RCAs, audits, PHA recommendations, MOC action plans, and agency inspections will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will support and incorporate Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities into your ongoing work duties through teamwork across departments.
