As a Process Safety Engineer at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our operations within the Chicagoland region, specifically at the Des Plaines Campus, which includes our R&D and manufacturing facilities in Riverside and McCook. You will be accountable to the HSE Manager and will be responsible for overseeing process safety and operational safety functions. This position is integral to maintaining the highest safety standards and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Your primary responsibilities will include leading the Mechanical Integrity/Reliability Engineering program across two R&D sites and one chemical manufacturing site. You will lead and participate in hazard reviews and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews for lab, pilot plant, and manufacturing activities, ensuring that all processes are evaluated for safety risks before they commence. Additionally, you will review any changes to lab, pilot plant, and manufacturing activities to assess their impact on process safety, ensuring that safety is never compromised. You will also conduct and participate in audits of process safety activities, including the annual self-assessment tool and RC 14001 Audits. When necessary, you will develop and implement action plans to address any audit findings, demonstrating your commitment to continuous improvement in safety practices.
