About the position

INVISTA is seeking a Process Safety Management (PSM) Specialist at our Victoria, TX plant to join our industry-leading team. The Process Safety Management Specialist (PSM) is expected to help promote a culture of organizational and individual ownership and innovation in all areas of PSM. The role will also create long-term value for the organization by ensuring risk is identified and mitigated while aligning site safety strategies that are consistent with the company/site Health & Safety vision. This role reports directly to the Site PSM Leader.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in program ownership by championing the site Event Management / Incident Investigation Program.
  • Provide Event Program governance for quality, completion timeliness and action plan oversight in accordance with the Event Management & Incident Investigation Standard.
  • Lead routine program audits.
  • Collaborate with other INVISTA sites driving continuous improvement of the Event & Incident Investigation Program.
  • Provide and communicate trend analysis to the organization (including site leadership) to drive transparency for adequate actions.
  • Be proficient in the Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) elements of Process Safety Management.
  • Train employees on responsibilities and expectations within the Event Management program.
  • Engage in continuation effort of Aid in connecting workforce to Process Safety culture expectations.

Requirements

  • Background in a Process Safety Management-regulated facility.
  • Experience working with Incident (Event) management program.
  • Familiar with the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on knowledge of relevant process safety regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.119 (Process Safety Management) and 40 CFR 68 (Chemical Accident Prevention Provisions).
  • Proficient in incident investigations and Human & Organizational Performance (HOP).
  • Leadership experience within an industrial setting.
  • Certified or qualified Root Cause Analysis (RCA) facilitator.
  • Prior experience managing Management of Change (MOC) programs.
  • Safety-related credentials such as Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) certifications.
