About the position

The Process Technician at Letica Corporation is responsible for setting up and operating injection molding machines, ensuring efficient production levels, and maintaining quality standards. This role involves troubleshooting machine issues, coordinating with various departments, and adhering to safety and documentation protocols to meet production schedules and customer demands.

Responsibilities

  • Set up machines for operation and change material and color to meet production schedules.
  • Make adjustments to machines to ensure efficient production levels and document appropriately.
  • Start up and troubleshoot injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Review production schedules to ensure machines are running to meet customer demands.
  • Process and set up all new molds.
  • Maintain cycle times and minimize downtime.
  • Respond to alarms and requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments regarding machine operations.
  • Maintain foil supply on hot stamp equipment.
  • Ensure a steady supply of colorant and material to the machines.
  • Make resin changes with the correct resin and to the correct machines.
  • Inspect scrap and minimize scrap at each machine.
  • Clean all molds on IML machines safely and accurately.
  • Change IML labels, foil, grips, and wire on each machine.
  • Complete daily paperwork including process records and machine cleaning logs.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and housekeeping standards are maintained in the production department.
  • Document downtime on injection sheets, including color changes.
  • Coordinate with the Shift Supervisor and team leaders regarding supplies needed for production runs.
  • Conduct quick start-up and shut-down emergency procedures.
  • Encourage staff to notify management of food safety issues and empower them to resolve issues within their scope of work.
  • Clean under each machine at the end of each shift.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
