About the position

The Process Technician at Stryten Energy is responsible for setting up and starting all injection molded jobs, ensuring safety and efficiency in the production process. This role involves troubleshooting molding problems, training other employees, and maintaining high-quality standards in manufacturing. The position is critical in supporting the expansion of battery poly manufacturing and recycling output.

Responsibilities

  • Embrace and follow the Core Beliefs and Values of Stryten Energy, prioritizing safety.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing methods to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and optimal capacity.
  • Understand the Bill of Materials for job setups and production.
  • Perform mold changes, setups, and necessary hookups in accordance with setup procedures.
  • Clean molds to meet Bill of Material requirements.
  • Set up all support and secondary equipment needed for production jobs.
  • Perform color, insert, and core changes as per the Bill of Materials.
  • Start up and troubleshoot all production machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Set up end of arm tooling for robots and modify robot job setups as needed.
  • Submit first articles for quality approval and document all necessary paperwork.
  • Log changes throughout production runs on process log sheets.
  • Optimize productivity and utilization in the production area.
  • Assist Machine Operators, Mold Setters, and Quality Coordinators as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in the production department.
  • Report unsafe conditions to the Production Supervisor.
  • Shut down and start up the production department in emergency situations.
  • Create and enter Toolroom and Maintenance work orders via CMMS system.
  • Research new tooling materials and processes to enhance production efficiency.
  • Lead and assist in training production employees on best practices.
  • Attend management meetings and training sessions as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum ten years of experience in installing and setting up plastic injection molds, or two years as a Setup Technician.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Good attendance and performance work history.
  • Motivated self-starter with proven mechanical ability.
  • Must have own tools and complete forklift driving training.
  • Knowledge of plastic resins and technical data sheets.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
