About the position

Raytheon is seeking a Processing Systems Engineer II to provide systems engineering operational support to a proprietary customer within the Intelligence Community. This role is crucial in delivering mission-critical capabilities that enable the planning and execution of intelligence gathering, processing the resulting collected data into useful information, and distributing it to users. The Processing Systems Engineer will work in a fast-paced 24 x 7 Operations and Maintenance (O&M) environment, where the O&M team is responsible for performing all aspects of operational processing and solving challenging problems that will make a difference in our country's future. The position is integral to a 24-hour operations team, requiring a rotating shift schedule. The successful candidate will manage and monitor system architecture, ensure mission data accuracy, operate necessary equipment for data capture and processing, and perform near real-time checks on processing tools and techniques. Additionally, the engineer will identify artifacts and anomalies, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with engineering teams to validate multi-mission processing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor system architecture.
  • Ensure mission data are accurate in format and content.
  • Operate equipment necessary to capture, process, distribute and archive data.
  • Perform day to day near real-time checks to determine how well processing tools, techniques and procedures are performing.
  • Identify artifacts and anomalies; perform root cause analysis to mitigate anomalies; mitigate error message handling.
  • Perform special events and activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide and validate multi-mission processing solutions.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in executing assigned tasks.
  • Experience in a collaborative environment with other engineering groups.
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
