About the position

The Processing Specialist for Graduate/Adult Learner at Barry University is responsible for processing applications and supporting documents for new and re-enrolling graduate and adult learner students. This role involves maintaining applicant records from application receipt through acceptance and registration, ensuring data accuracy, and facilitating communication throughout the admissions process. The position is fully remote for the tri-county area of Miami Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach.

Responsibilities

  • Process and maintain applicant records.
  • Review and ensure all applicant data has been entered and is accurate.
  • Update applicant records reflecting institutions attended and ensure any required documents are entered and requested.
  • Review received transcripts for accreditation, level of education, and GPA; calculate GPA if necessary.
  • Evaluate credentials for clarity, accuracy, and type, ensuring data is accurate.
  • Place and remove holds on student records for required submission of documents or deposits.
  • Evaluate student records and credentials for eligibility for an admission decision and send for review if appropriate.
  • Update records for admission status and ensure proper correspondence is sent to students throughout the admission process.
  • Review daily reports and perform necessary actions relevant to the report.
  • Monitor Graduate Processing Mailbox and handle appropriately.
  • Prepare, arrange, and update files for admission decisions and review applicant records for those ready to review by the school.
  • Prepare advising files for electronic delivery and update systems to reflect the status of admissions decisions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 12 months or less of related experience is required.
  • Basic computer/technical skills required.
  • Basic written and oral communication skills required.
