About the position

The Processing Specialist I - Data Entry role is a critical position within Deluxe Corporation, responsible for the accurate input and correction of numeric and alpha information found on checks and deposit slips from various clients. This role requires a keen attention to detail and adherence to confidentiality and security policies, especially since data entry operators may have access to Personal Identification Information (PII). The position involves performing basic 10-key data entry for clients with low-level instruction, which includes entering, correcting, and verifying alpha and numeric data from checks, coupons, and invoices that are read from images or paper supports. Examples of the data to be keyed include the legal amount, courtesy amount, account numbers, invoice numbers, scanlines, and validating payee names and decision check types. In addition to data entry tasks, the Processing Specialist is responsible for following client guidelines while meeting stringent deadlines, output, and accuracy standards. This includes identifying and reporting all client, system, and equipment issues and errors to the department leader. The role demands a flexible work schedule, with the ability to stay late to complete assigned work as necessary. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and will be able to adapt to change and learn new processes as the business evolves. Working independently is also a key aspect of this position, as the specialist must meet established Deluxe minimums for accuracy and speed in all applicable areas.
