About the position
The Proctor for Academic Support Services at Rush University Medical Center is responsible for facilitating tests and exams while ensuring the security and integrity of the examination process. This role involves guiding students through test instructions, maintaining order in the examination area, and collecting test papers post-exam. Proctors play a vital role in upholding the mission, vision, and values of Rush and must adhere to established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Administers computerized and paper-based examinations in the secure testing environment.
- Supervises students for the duration of examination session.
- Ensures that all required testing protocols issued by faculty are followed.
- Responsible for reporting any violations of the honor code or code of conduct.
- Assists Assessment Staff with admission to the testing room by checking students in via Student ID badge and ensuring all technology (personal cell phones and smart watches) are stored away.
- Secures all testing materials and other test documents.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Available to commute to campus for on-campus examinations.
- Ability to communicate professionally with faculty, students, and university staff regarding issuing examinations.
- Exercise judgment and discretion and follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Maintain confidentiality.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous proctoring experience at the college/university level.
- Experience in specialized software applications.
