About the position

The Procurement Analyst position within the Contracts Administration Team at Sarasota County Government focuses on the development and administration of contracts. The role requires strong contract drafting skills and involves collaboration with various departments and the Office of the County Attorney to ensure compliance and best practices in contract management. The position emphasizes customer service and teamwork, aiming to create a positive work environment while managing contract processes from negotiation to execution.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, negotiate, and review contracts and related documents.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement procedures and policies.
  • Develop and maintain best practices for contract administration.
  • Maintain a contract database and provide training to internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the negotiation process during contract finalization.
  • Prepare and collect supporting documents for contracts.
  • Administer contracts from award through expiration.
  • Provide customer service to internal departments and external vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in liberal arts, law, English, writing, or related field with two years of experience in procurement or related field; or an Associate's Degree with four years of experience; or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong contract drafting skills and experience with standard and non-standard forms.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret policies, procedures, and laws.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to maintain a positive attitude.

Nice-to-haves

  • Three years of related experience in procurement, contracts, law, writing, or project management.
  • CPPB or NIGP-CPP certification or the ability to obtain it within three years.
