About The Position

The Sarasota County Government Procurement department is seeking a Procurement Professional II to join the Contracts Administration Team (CAT). This role involves contributing to the development and administration of contracts for the County, working closely with team members, County departments, and the Office of the County Attorney. The ideal candidate will have strong contract drafting skills and a customer service focus, with a passion for contract development and a positive team spirit.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in liberal arts, law, English, writing, or related field AND two years of experience in procurement or a related field.
• OR Associate's Degree in a related field AND four years of experience in procurement or a related field.
• OR Progressively responsible professional experience that provides requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities may substitute for the required degree.

Nice To Haves

• Three years of related experience in procurement, contracts, education, law, writing, or project management.
• CPPB or NIGP-CPP certification or the ability to obtain it within three years.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and review contracts and related documents.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and develop best practices.
• Maintain a contract database and provide training to internal stakeholders.
• Facilitate the negotiation process during contract finalization.
• Prepare and collect supporting documents for contracts.
• Administer contracts from award through expiration.
• Provide customer service to internal and external customers.
• Perform other necessary tasks as required.
