About the position

The Procurement Analyst position at Kinder Morgan is designed to manage the contract lifecycle management system and provide guidance to end users. This role involves developing procurement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance, and driving departmental initiatives. The analyst will serve as a resource for the procurement team, facilitating training and improving processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage contract lifecycle management system clause and template documents.
  • Provide guidance to end users regarding procurement systems and policies.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop procurement policies and procedures.
  • Review team compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Act as a liaison with the legal group to discuss and edit terms and conditions.
  • Identify training needs and conduct compliance checks.
  • Lead individual and group training sessions, both in person and virtually.
  • Analyze current processes to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Document business requirements for new systems or processes.
  • Contribute to standardizing procedures across Procurement.
  • Design process maps and workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, supply chain management, or related discipline preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a purchasing/procurement role required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a purchasing/procurement role required in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal customers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Self-directed and capable of completing tasks without constant oversight.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Contract Lifecycle Management, and ERP systems preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including document creation and use of styles preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Procurement contracts or experience reading contracts preferred.
