About the position
The Procurement and Facility Application Subject Matter Expert (SME) at Caterpillar provides application, business process, and technical leadership for the Indirect Procurement and Global Facilities segments. This role involves managing applications, driving upgrades, implementing improvements, and overseeing support services. The SME will engage with global business partners to ensure effective deployment and support of applications, while adhering to IT controls and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage IT controls and act as a subject matter expert on major projects.
- Provide leadership to the Application Managed Service Team and Service Level Manager.
- Resolve issues that create recurring support tickets.
- Deploy changes to Coupa and maintain architecture artifacts for solution design.
- Engage with business partners to align on business objectives and solutions.
- Implement integration with data platforms such as Snowflake.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field, or 5 years of relevant experience.
- 3 years of experience developing and supporting large IT applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project leadership skills.
- Effective communication skills in written and oral English.
- Experience with Coupa, GEP, or Archibus applications.
- Familiarity with integration technologies such as DataStage or Snaplogic.
- Knowledge of Agile project management tools like DevOps.
- Experience managing data platforms such as Snowflake.
- Understanding of IT Controls/Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance.

- Experience in Procurement, Financial Systems, or Internet of Things (IoT).
